Start your day with a perfect blend of history and nature. The hike begins at 09:00 AM from the central square of Garni. The first stop is the Khumarazham Basilica (4th–5th centuries), an exceptional example of early Armenian architecture. Locals call it the “Humble Church.” This single-nave structure with a southern vestry and columned hall passes on the spiritual traditions of ancient times.
Continuing the trail, we visit the Mashtots Hayrapet Church, built in the 12th–13th centuries and named after Catholicos Mashtots Eghivardetsi. Medieval inscriptions and botanical frescoes are preserved on its walls.
The next stop is the famous Symphony of Stones — natural basalt columns towering like the walls of a musical stage. From there, we cross the medieval Arched Bridge (11th–12th centuries) and pass over the Azat River.
We then enter the Khosrov Forest State Reserve, and from the checkpoint continue in a special tourist vehicle through forest paths and along the river to the Brotherhood Spring. From that point, the hike continues on foot toward Aghjots Monastery — a secluded spiritual site nestled deep within the forest. Built in the 13th century, the monastery is linked to a legend of girls praying for salvation.
Return is via the same route, by 5:00 PM.
