Hiking from Garni to the Havuts Tar Monastery
The hike to Havuts Tar Monastery starts from the village of Garni and passes through historical and natural landmarks. The route offers the opportunity to explore the landscapes of the Azat Gorge, the territory of the Khosrov Forest, and one of medieval Armenia’s valuable monuments.
The hike begins from Garni at 09:00 in the morning. Along the route, stops are planned at Khumarazham, Mashtots Hayrapet area, the Symphony of Stones, and near the Kamara Bridge. The final destination is the Havuts Tar Monastery complex, dating back to the 12th–13th centuries, located within the Khosrov Forest State Reserve.
This is a moderate-difficulty hike, suitable for physically active participants. The route includes rest and photography stops, and the total duration is approximately 5 hours.
